SURRENDER

I met a man last night

one that showed me all I could have been

He didn't speak to me

I only spoke to him

And though his countenance was bright

He only let it show dim

I spoke with wisdom and authority

Yet his eyes.... they only glistened

Then I said to myself.....

"my God if he would only listen"

I felt something inside of him

Was just bursting to come out

If he would just listen long enough

for me to give it the route

Then as i shook my head with frustration

He smiled at me and said

My son have you listened to a single word you've said

And that's when I soon came to me

This man i met last night was me.

In today’s society, especially in the professional sports arena, athletes are looking for something to give them the competitive edge; something that sets them apart and often at a great cost to themselves and others. Hence “PED” Performance Enhancing Drugs. So too, in the Body of the Christ; many are gifted and skilled having much to offer yet are powerless, average, never doing exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think and never truly understanding the power available. “Power, Eternal, Divine, God’s P.E.D., which can only be obtained through the the Holy Ghost. Without costs, Jesus promises us this Power Eternal and divine to reach our full potential in him. John 15:26 and Acts 1:8.

RELY ON GOD

Do you ever find yourself needing something, but things seem to be moving slowly or not moving at all? Then while you are waiting, anxiety sometimes creeps in along with stress. The crazy thing is when we allow these emotions to control how we feel and think, they do absolutely nothing positive for the underlying factors. You’restill waiting for an answer, a move of God, directions, an alternative solution, etc. While it is so easy to become engulfed in things that are happening in our lives, worry is not the answer, you can only find solace in the Word of God.

The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. King James Version (KJV)

Another version of the Bible states:

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all He has done. New Living Translation (NLT)

Yet another version states:

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. The Message Bible (MSG)

There is a choice that has to be made. We can operate in what we are experiencing or we can accept the truth of God’s Word as stated in 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NLT). For we live by believing and not by seeing. Control that stress and don’t allow the stress to control you. Stand on the Word of God that dwells within you. Read God’s Word and allow it to be your guide, Psalm 119:105 (NLT). Yourword is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. No need to teeter totter between emotions, God will help you if you ask, allow, and then follow His lead.

This is a perfect time to say a prayer. Father, we thank you for being our very present help. You are the source of every answer to life’s challenges. We acknowledge that it is impossible to consistently overcome challenges on our own, but with You, we can overcome every obstacle. Help us to hear and obey Your directions and recognize that Your ways and thoughts are not like ours. Thank you for Your love, protection, and direction, in JesusName....Amen!
